GoChinaAuto.com-According to the CAAM, China independent automaker Great Wall sold 225,940 units in 2009, and increased by 80%.
In Passenger vehicles segment, Great Wall accomplished 155,117 unit sales volume, increased by 112%, MPV and Car was the driving power of growth in 2009, Great Wall changed its strategy of relying on SUV in passenger vehicle market to multi-legs walking, and launched new mini car and MPV, for example Xuanli which launched in November, 2008, sold more than 57,000 units in 2009; and MPV Kuxiong launched in March, 2009, sold more than 10,000 units in 2009. While Great Wall lost in SUV segments, only had a growth rate of 15%, which was smaller than the average growth rate of SUV, 45%.
In the commercial vehicle market, Great Wall kept its crown in pickup segment with a market share of 28%, it was the twelfth times winning No.1 in pickup market, and created the new record of more than 70,000 sales volumes.
According to announcements from Great Wall, Great Wall continued to be No.1 exporter of China independent automakers.
Great Wall is optimistic in 2010, and set a sales target of more than 400,000 units, with a increase of 70% compared with that of 2009. As its planning, there were more than five new products coming into the market in 2010.
