
In 2009 China auto market, China independent brands have been a majority and the main origin of the increasing.
It reported that China sold 13.64 million units vehicles in total in 2009, among of which there were 10.33 million unit passenger car and 340.72 million unit commercial vehicles, with growth rate of 54%, 33% respectively.
In the passenger car segment, China independent brand auto sold 4.58 million units, and occupied 44% market share, increased by 4% compared with that of 2008.
In the sedan market, China independent brand auto sold 2.22 million units, and occupied 30% market share, and then China independent brand auto exceeded Japanese-series automobile and ranked No.1 in China market.
Thanks to the stimulus policies of government, the segment of car with less than 1.6L displacement grew fast, sales volume reached 7.2 million, increased by 71%, accounted for 70% market share of passenger car. In this segment, China independent brand auto occupied 80% market share.
Four independent brand auto makers entered into the top 10 biggest auto makers in China. Chana group ranked No.4, with sales volume of 1.87 million units; Chery , BYD, Brilliance, Geely ranked No.7, No.8, No.9 and No.10, with sales volume of 500,300,448,000,348,300,329,100 respectively.
BYD F3 ranked No.1 in the top 10 best-sales sedan brands. Owing to good pricing between 50k~80k RMB, BYD F3 sold 291 thousand units in2009, and was the hot-sales sedan in China. Chery QQ, another independent brand, also was included in top 10 best sales auto brands, which sold 169.9 thousand units. China independent brand auto achieved in other segments, Great Wall Hover ranked No.3 in SUV segment market.
